ARENA (MAGAZINE)

Cover of the March 2005 edition of Arena.

'''Arena''' is a monthly British fashion and entertainment magazine for men. It was created in 1986 by Nick Logan, who had started ''The Face'' 6 years earlier and is currently edited by Giles Hattersley, and published by Emap. British graphic designer Neville Brody, who had designed ''The Face,'' designed ''Arena's'' launch appearance.
The magazine features articles on food, movies, fitness, sex, music, toys, and books. It is pitched at a similarly upscale audience to ''GQ'', attempting to offer a more adult read than lad mags like ''Maxim'' and ''FHM'', and gearing itself specifically towards the "black collar worker".
Kevin Smith is a semi-regular contributor, as is John Pilger. The magazine features photography from several well respected photographers, including, on a regular basis, Rankin.
The magazine each month features famous celebrities on its cover: cover girls including such diverse personalities as Rachel Stevens, Christina Ricci and Gisele; the magazine follows a similar policy to other similar men's magazines like ''GQ'' and ''Esquire'' by occasionally featuring male celebrities on its cover, from Tom Cruise to Matt Damon.
In July 2006 the editorial team behind Arena launched a team blog[1] which features regular postings from its contributors.
Arena now has four international editions outside the UK, in Denmark, Korea, Thailand and Singapore. Arena Singapore is the first English language edition outside the UK, launched in Singapore on October 27 2006[2].
