ANN LOWDON CALL


Ann Lowdon Call was born to Robert and Maria Lowdon in Chicago IL May 30, 1945. She wasn't born in Texas but often said she got there as quickly as she could. She graduated from the University of Texas (Austin) with a major in physical education and Spanish. In 1971 she earned a master's degree in guidance and counseling from Brigham Young University (Provo, Utah). She married Rodger L. Call in 1970. They have three children.
As a child, Ann's family had ranch horses. As an adult, she enjoyed competing in the world of quarter horses for the last 20 years of her life. She won many awards in that arena. Ann was honored to be inducted into the National Cowgirl Musuem and Hall of Fame in Ft. Worth TX in 2005.
She died July 3, 2007, from complications of diabetes in Ft. Worth TX.

'Ann Lowdon Call' is a horsewoman and was the 2005 AQHA Select World Champion in Pleasure Driving. She was inducted into the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame in 2005.
She also donated to the Amon Carter Museum through the Amon G. Carter Foundation.
