This short film is one of a trilogy that chroicles the plight of young black men growing up and learning the lessons of life in the streets of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 2005,Phiadelphia led the nation with 385 muders. 82% of these murders were from handguns. 80% were black males 45% were 25 years old or younger. 45 victims were 18 or younger. In addition to murders, violent crime numbers in Philly are astounding. In 2005 there were a total of 9757 robberies, 9814 aggravated assaults and 1001 raps. This film attempts to documant some of the social factors that contribute to the growing number of violent crimes in our community. the goal of this project is to create dialogue among youth and adults, which can lead to solutions for combating violence, drugs use and crime in America. Across the nation there are hundreds of cities and towns that suffer from the very same problems as Philadelphia. This film was written, produced, directed and edited by me Andrew "Wise" Willis creater of Bounty-x comics. We truly hope you enjoy viewing our project. We would like to offer any company interested in the opportunity to become financially invovled in the reproduction of "Make Moves". We truly believe that this film offer a wonderful tool for the education and understanding of life's struggles in the inner city of America. |
