The Blessed 'Amadeus IX' (February 1 1435March 30 1472), surnamed 'the Happy' was the Duke of Savoy from 1465 to 1472.
In 1452, he married Yolande of Valois (14341478), sister of Louis XI of France and daughter of Charles VII of France.
They had 10 children:

Amadeaus IX was known for his charity and concern for the poor and was beatified in 1677. The Catholic Church venerates him with a liturgical feast on March 30.
