The Bloodhound Gang version

More recently The Bloodhound Gang covered only the lyrics, but claimed that the song was about marijuana and wrote new music to accompany them for the ''Half Baked'' soundtrack, although it later appeared on their album ''Hooray for Boobies''. This song was released as a single in Germany and became a big hit reaching #6 there in 1999.
Leonard Bernstein admired the song, and included a short analysis of it in the "What is a Mode?" episode of his Young People's Concerts series. Punk band Circle Jerks have also covered this song.
