 | WEIRD, STRANGE, ANIMALS INHABIT OHIO COUNTRYSIDE PIEBALD "White Ghosts," the weird, strange animals that inhabit an Ohio countryside. Action shots in a natural setting of wild, white (piebald) Virginia Whitetails. These rare, unusual animals were photographed in the wild. At least 6 white deer were seen at different times in the same area. One was pure white, about a foot taller than the other deer, and had a huge rack. Another deer had a large band or belt of white fur around its middle like a Poland China hog. Its twin was white, but the only time I filmed the white twin was in a split second as it jumped behind a tree (it had been standing by the banded deer and their mother). A white fawn was seen once. Around 30 years ago, many area people saw a white deer with a black spot. A sixth white deer was seen and photographed along our river valley (Alum Creek, in Ohio). The piebald deer also had a sort of Roman nose -- one with an enlargement in the front of the face - that some of the deer in the area had. The wooly deer had a whiteish face with white eyebrows. It also seemed to also have an unusually long tail. In this video, as many as 3 piebald deer were photographed together-a very rare occurrence. A number of other piebald deer were seen on the farm, as shown in other videos. Piebald, albino, "white," and "black" whitetail deer are very rare. In Bolder Junction, Wis., a man once photographed 3 albino deer standing together. The odds of doing this in wild deer have been calculated as astronomical -- 1 in 79 billion. Such calculations are based on assumptions. For example, the odds of finding an albino deer are often calculated as 1 in 30,000. Less than 1 % of whitetail deer are piebald. However seeing either a wild piebald or an albino deer is considered a once in a lifetime experience. Black or Melanistic whitetails are very, very rare, and much rarer than either white piebald or albino deer. A person can recognize a melanistic deer because they produce too much of the pigment known as melanin and this makes them much darker than a typical whitetail. Of the millions of deer taken each year only a very few with melanism have been reported. Most people don't know they even exist because of their extreme rarity. A melonistic buck is a true trophy. Some melanistic whitetails are very dark and some are even pure black. Sometimes these animals are considered ghosts and at other times presage an omen. The Chickasaw, Seneca, Apache, Aztec, Cheyenne, Lenca, Cherokee, Pawnee, Sioux, Shasta, Algonquin, Pawnee, Sioux, Lakota and many other groups have legends about white deer. Such animals are so strange in appearance that they immediately capture interest and make people watch for them. (These were wild deer on our farm taped by Scott and extracted from longer films.) ** Some of the world's largest bucks live in Ohio. Some of its world champion bucks have Boone and Crockett scores of over 300 points. Ohio's Beatty Buck may be the (or among the) largest ever taken by a hunter. That title of the largest whitetail, ever, in the record books belongs to the "Missouri Monarch," a 333-7/8 buck found dead on the side of a road in 1982 near St. Louis. In second place is the legendary "Hole in the Horn," found dead in Ohio in 1940, however, many whitetail experts think that it is actually the largest set of whitetail deer antlers in history. It may be the most famous whitetail known. Deer have an amazing assortment of communicative signs. Approximately 100 different vocalizations have been recorded, such as tending grunts, dominant grunts, bleats, and many others. They make extensive use of sign language. |

 | Xbox 360 & Ps3 - Grand Theft Auto 4 Trailer {-2-} PS3 & Xbox 360 title - Grand Theft Auto IV "Looking for that special someone" Today the anticipated second encounter with GTA IV was released, this trailer shows off some impressive new gameplay techniques and a variety of different locations. GTA IV info - - Lead character's name is Niko Bellic, and he's believed to be Croatian or Serbian. - Multiplayer is be announced at some point in the future. - Players can use a mobile to call your contacts. - Sorry, but there are no planes as the game takes place in one city only. - You'll have more choice than in previous games, though you will still be taking orders from people. - The story is said to unfold in many different ways giving you more choice and control over the outcome. - The structure of the storyline is said to be "quite different" to previous games. MORE INFORMATION * Niko was persuaded to move to Liberty City by his cousin Roman, who claimed to be living a wonderful life there with two beautiful women, fifteen sports cars, and lots of money etc, but he was infact telling a lie in order to hide his own failures. Roman is the only person you know in Liberty City at the beginning of the game, and he becomes one of your major connections at the start. Niko is a tough character whereas Roman is friendly. Roman is heavily in debt and a lot of people are after him - he needs Niko's support. They are constantly bickering. * Variations in the terrain cause realistic changes in the walking animation of Niko. The physics have also improved and character movements are more realistic. * Multiplayer will exist, but it will be something that coincides with single-player and will not be an MMO. * The MetLife building now bears the name Getalife, the Statue of Liberty is now the Statue of Happiness, and DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) is called BOABO (Beneath the Offramp of the Algonquin Bridge Overpass). * In Grand Theft Auto 4, Rockstar have recreated 4 of the 5 boroughs in New York, as well as part of New Jersey. Broker is the GTA 4 equivalent of Brooklyn, Manhattan is now called Algonquin, Queens is now Dukes, the Bronx is Bohan, and New Jersey is Alderney. * There is only one city. There may be motorcycles, but there will be no planes, rollerblades or unicycles, and I wouldn't expect jetpacks or Harriers. Rockstar wants the city to feel realistic and fit the style of the character. * The city is almost as large as San Andreas, but will not have any useless space like countryside or desert. Every space will be cram-packed with detail. * The city will be highly contrasted between daytime and nighttime. * Freedom is emphasized. You continue to take orders from mission givers, but you are not forced to spend your time being a slave to them. You can go see who you want to, practically when you want to. You just call someone up and see if they are available. * The story unfolds in a number of different ways. R* is giving people more freedom, more choice and more sense of control over their destiny - the structure of the storyline is quite different to previous games. * Contacts will be called from your cell phone. It's LCD screen has options for Phonebook, Messages, Organizer and Camera. Niko's Phonebook has options such as: City Contact, Docks Friend, and Cab Contact. The cell phone will allow the player to call contacts instead of meeting them in person, which should make the player feel more independent. * Game Informer playtested the Xbox 360 version. It is to be identical to the PS3 version except for episodic content. * The voice talent for GTA 4 will be less big names and more suited to the characters. The soundtrack will also be geared more towards the feel of the city and less focused on big names. * The game will load once and then never again, and not even during interior transitions. * It is implied that there will be greater emphasis on pedestrian AI, and they will come with all sorts of temperaments. They will also be seen doing realistic things like smoking a cigarette, reading a book, sitting on a bench, etc. * You will also see a lot more of pedestrian criminals being arrested by the police. * Rockstar have now spent over 3 years developing the game, and Dan Houser compares the leap from GTA III to GTA 4, to the leap from GTA to GTA III.
