'Alexey Pavlovich Okladnikov' (
Russian: Алексе́й Па́влович Окла́дников) (
1908 –
1981), was an
archaeologist,
historian, and
ethnographer, member of the
USSR Academy of Sciences since
1968, a
Hero of Socialist Labor (
1978).
In
1938-
1961 Alexey Okladnikov worked in the Leningrad division of the Archeology Institute of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
Since
1961 Head of the Division of Human Research of the Economics Institute, Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
Since
1966 Director of the Institute of History, Philology and Philosophy, Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
Since
1962, Professor and Head, Department of History, of
Novosibirsk State University.
His works include research on ancient history of
Siberia,
Far East,
Mongolia, and
Middle East.
Taught field studies in
Siberia, the
Far East,
Central Asia and
Mongolia.
They opened and examined: remnants of
Neanderthal and culture in the rock
Teshik-Tash
in
Uzbekistan, in the Paleolithic Mongolia, petroglyphs on the banks of
Lena River,
Angara River, in Priamurye,
Mongolia, as well as identified numerous local culture
Paleolithic, Neolithic, Bronze , and Iron Ages Siberia and the Far East.
1945 examined the remains of Russian polar expedition hub in 1917. at about. Fabian
(from the north-east coast of Taimyr peninsula). O.
