William Alden is Managing Director of Alden Group Limited.
The Alden Group was founded in 1832 and has been under continuous family management since then. Since the 1950s, it has specialised in the origination and printing of academic books and journals. It became a global business in 1998 with the establishment of an origination operation in India.
William Alden has an MA from Oxford University and an MBA from Cranfield School of Management. William started his career as an officer in the 13th/18th Rotal Hussars and joined the Alden Group in 1980.
William is a member of the Court of the Stationers’ Livery Company, a Governor of Headington School in Oxford and on the Court of Oxford Brookes University. In 2000, William was awarded an MBE for his services to vocational education and training, and was appointed a Deputy Liutenant for Oxfordshire in 2004.
