The 'Albuquerque Metropolitan Statistical Area' is a metropolitan area in central
New Mexico that covers four counties -
Bernalillo,
Sandoval,
Torrance, and
Valencia. As of the
2000 census, the MSA had a population of 729,649 (though a July 1, 2006 estimate placed the population at 816,811).

The median income for a household in the MSA was $37,071, and the median income for a family was $41,804. Males had a median income of $32,563 versus $24,462 for females. The
per capita income for the MSA was $17,211.
