ALAGNA VALSESIA
'Alagna Valsesia' is a comune and small village high in the Valsesia alpine valley in the province of Vercelli, Piedmont, Italy. It was originally settled by Walser. Located at an altitude of 1.205m just south of the Monte Rosa it offers plenty of opportunities for mountaineering and winter sports. It is internationally renowned as a mecca for off-piste skiing. A cable car ascends up to the Punta Indren at 3.260m offering various demanding ungroomed slopes.
Since december 2005 a new cable car connects Alagna with Gressoney through the Passo dei Salati.
