AL KUFRAH

'Al Kufrah' (Arabic: 'الكفرة '), also spelled 'Cufra' is one of the municipalities of Libya. Its capital is Al Jawf.[1]
There is a very large oil refinery near the capital.
Al Kufrah's location in Libya's southeast places it on the country's border with Egypt, Sudan (unlike any other Libyan municipality), and Chad. It borders the following regions of these countries:

Al Wadi al Jadid Governorate, Egypt - east

ash-Shamaliyah State, Sudan - southeast

Shamal Darfor State, Sudan - far southeast

Bourkou-Ennedi-Tibesti Region, Chad - south
Domestically, it borders the following municipalities:

Murzuq - west

Al Jufrah - northwest, southwest of Ajdabiya

Ajdabiya - northwest, northeast of Al Jufrah

Al Wahat - north

Al Butnan - northeast
