AIR ÅLAND


'Air Åland' is the provincial airline of Åland, based in Mariehamn, Åland, Finland. It operates scheduled services from Åland to Helsinki and Stockholm. Its main base is Mariehamn Airport[1].

History


The airline was founded on January 14, 2005 with a broad base of owners within the trade and business of the Åland islands. The goal of the owners is to maintain air traffic with good quality for a low price to mainland Finland and Sweden. Operations started on 29 October 2005.

As of March 2007, services are flown using Saab 340A aircraft leased from Alandia Air and operated by UAB Nordic Solutions Air Services. The registration codes are "LY-ISR" (ex SE-ISR) and "LY-KXE"
