 | Agnosticism- The Atheist Experience This video is to inform people of how agnosticism and atheism actually are responses to two different questions. Agnosticism deals with knowledge and atheism deals with belief. A person can be an agnostic atheist or an agnostic theist. This video is also there to let anyone who claims to be a gnostic atheist or agnostic atheist know that they are not alone in their lack of belief in a personal god (not necessarily the belief that there is no god). I have become a huge fan of The Atheist Experience podcast and of The Non-Prophets podcast. I've learned much from the hosts, most notably, Matt Dillahunty. The audio is of Tracie Harris and Matt Dillahunty of The Atheist Experience discussing how agnosticism and atheism relate. Excellent definitions of atheism can be found at Infidels.org and at the Rational Responders' site. The list of atheists comes, predominately, from Wikipedia's list of atheists (extensively notated). I really enjoy your arguments against strong atheism, as they prove logically the agnostic stance while dismissing the popular concept of fence-sitting and decisive standstill in everyday life, yet reinforcing the correct morsels of atheism that reinforce our idea. However, I came across an idea online recently when looking for more fun brain teasers regarding DNA. It states that since DNA follows a certain code (or language) pattern, that it conforms to the definition of a design and, that since information and design must come from will and intent, that it proves the existence of a higher being behind the curtain. I know you may very well be no biologist, but you have an uncanny knack for definitions, as well as laymen analogies that provide an accurate depiction of whatever it is that might get us closer to an objective reality. I've heard some counter arguments on this "DNA is a language" theory but most are over my head and involve defining DNA as a cipher rather than a code or organized language. Would you be able to shed any light on this particular argument for me, in either video or text? Once again I deeply respect your standpoints as they have shown me the logical flaws in my arguments against theism, while also providing me an excellent reassurance against the beckoning atheists with just as outrageous of claims.
