The 'Academy of the Holy Cross' is Catholic high school for girls, located in Kensington, Maryland, founded in 1868 by the Sisters of the Holy Cross of Notre Dame, Indiana. It is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington.
The Academy, known internally as AHC, is an accomplished secondary institution for young women who are interested in academics, athletics, and theatre. Its motto is "women of courage, compassion, and scholarship."
