'أبو الفدا' or 'Abu al-Fida' or 'Abul Fida Ismail ibn Kathir' (fully 'Abu Al-fida' Isma'il Ibn Kathir 'imad Ad-din', (also transliterated 'Abulfeda', 'Abu Alfida', and other ways) (1301 – 1373) was a Syrian historian and ''mufassir.''
Abulfeda was born at Busra, Syria. He moved to Damascus and became one of its own. In his boyhood he devoted himself to the study of the ''Qur'an''and its sciences, and also excelled in study of history.

★ ''Tarikh Abul Fida'': his chief historical work, also called ''An Abridgment of the History at the Human Race,'' in the form of annals extending from the creation of the world to the 1300s.
