'''A Fortunate Life''' is the autobiography by Australian author Albert Facey.
This book was written near the end of the author's life.
It chronicles his early life growing up in Western Australia, his experiences as a private during the ill fated Gallipoli campaign of World War I and his return to civilian life following the war.
It is considered a classic piece of Australian literature and is particularly valuable as a primary account of the Australian experience during World War I.
The book was made into an Channel Nine TV mini series in 1986.
