ACT AND SOUTHERN NSW RUGBY UNION

The 'ACT and Southern NSW Rugby Union' is the governing body for rugby union in the Australian Capital Territory and southern regions of New South Wales. The union is represented by one team in the Super 14 competition, the Brumbies. The ACT will also be home to one of the teams in the new Australian Rugby Championship which starts in 2007.
The union was founded in 1938 as the 'ACT Rugby Union'. It received its current name after the 2004 Super 12 season, when the Far South Coast and Southern Inland unions of New South Wales joined the organisation. This change also led to the former ACT Brumbies being renamed Brumbies Rugby.
