'El' (Л, л) is a letter of the Cyrillic alphabet, representing the consonant unless it comes before a palatalizing vowel when it represents . It is descended from the Greek letter lambda. The letter is not to be confused with the capital printed Pe, which has both left and right legs straight.
It is the twelfth letter of the Bulgarian alphabet the thirteenth letter of the Russian alphabet.
