 | Arvanite: Moj e bukura gjitone - Μόι ε μπούκουρα γκιτόνε Arvanite/Albanian music by Alekos Dimou. Arvanites (Arberesh of Arberor) are an indigenous people of Greece who speak Arvanitika (Arbereshe in native language), which is a Albanian dialect identical to that of Southern Albania. The Arbanites (aka Arnauds, Arbanassi, Arbereshe, Albanci, Albanski, Albanians, Illyrians, Epirotes) were the smartest, toughest, and most cunning but also brutal soldiers that the history of the Balkans has ever seen. As a matter of fact, the Arvanites were the people that delivered out of Greece the Ottoman Empire and gave Greece its independence. Statistics on the number of Arvanites residing today in Greece are very unreliable due to the fact that the Greek government stubbornly denies the existence of any ethnic minority. However, several Arvanite communities based throughout Greece, have come up with an estimate of at least 1/3 of the population (3 Million). This does not please the Greek Orthodox Church as it threatens its power and the equilibrium of the Greek state. As a result, the Greek Orthodox Church has been able to involve them (exclusively Arvanites) in a sort of politic where Orthodoxy, State, and Family are the best way of life. While state and family are no threat, what these people are being fed in Masses (beside the short reading of the word of God) remains very questionable. ΙΣΤΟΡΙΚΟ Η κατασκευή του αεροδρομίου άρχισε το 1960. Το 1970 συγκροτήθηκε η 120 Σμηναρχία Εκπαίδευσης Αέρος (120ΣΕΑ) με αεροσκάφη Τ-33Α. Τον Ιανουάριο του 1971 παρελήφθησαν τα αεροσκάφη Τ-37B/C και το 1976 τα αεροσκάφη Τ-2E/C BUCKEYE που αντικατέστησαν τα αεροσκάφη Τ-33Α. Τον Αύγουστο του ίδιου έτους, η 120 Σμηναρχία Εκπαίδευσης Αέρος μετονομάστηκε σε 120 Πτέρυγα Εκπαίδευσης Αέρος. Τον Αύγουστο του 2000 τα Τ-37 B/C, αντικαταστάθηκαν από τα αεροσκάφη Τ-6Α TEXAN. ΟΡΓΑΝΩΣΗ Η Μονάδα είναι οργανωμένη σύμφωνα με την τυπική οργάνωση Μονάδων που ανήκουν στη Διοίκηση Αεροπορικής Εκπαίδευσης (ΔΑΕ). Στη δύναμή της ανήκουν οι ακόλουθες Ιπτάμενες Μοίρες:361,362,363,364. 120 Air Training Wing Mission The unit's mission is to provide the cadets and 2nd Lieutenants with flight training, in order to prepare and make them skilled pilots, able to engage duties and responsibilities as aircraft pilots. History The construction of the airport started in 1960. The 120 ATW is established in 1970 with the T-33 airplanes. In January 1971 the T-37 B/C airplanes were delivered and in 1976 the T-2 E/C BUCKEYE which replaced the T-33A. In the same year, in August, the 120 Air Training Group is renamed to 120 Air Training Wing. In August 2000, the T-37 B/C were replaced by the T-6A TEXAN. Organization The 120 Air Training Wing is organized according to the typical organization of Wings that belong to the Air Force Training Command.
