The 'đàn gáo' is a Vietnamese
bowed string instrument with two strings. Its body is made from half of a
coconut shell covered with wood, with a small seashell used as bridge.
The ''đàn gáo'' is closely related to a similar Chinese instrument, the ''
yehu'', and was likely introduced to Vietnam by
Chaozhou immigrants.
