Визит на станцию Дюмон д'Юрвиль В полдень 19 февраля 2005 г. яхта "Апостол Андрей", совершающая кругосветное плавание вокруг Антарктиды, пересекла Южный полярный круг в районе французской научной базы Дюмон д'Юрвиль. Станция разместилась на скалистом острове Петрел. Яхту встречали начальник станции Диди Беллё (Didie Belleoud) и Патрис Годон, (Patrice Godon), менеджер-распорядитель и шеф сезонной партии. Очень быстро последовало традиционное у всех полярников приглашение в баню и на ужин, который прошел очень весело, а так как на следующий день было воскресенье, то затянулся он почти до завтрака. *** The yacht Apostol Andrey at the Dumont d'Urville Base. At noon on February 19, 2005 the yacht Apostol Andrey, carrying out the circumnavigation around the Antarctica, crossed the South Polar Circle near the French Scientific Station Dumont d'Urville. The Station was located at the rocky Island on Île des Pétrels, archipelago of Pointe Géologie (66°40′S, 140°01′E) in Adélie Land. The yacht was met by Didie Belleoud the Chief of the Station and Patrice Godon, the Chief of the seasonal party. Very soon (as this is the tradition of polar explorers) the team of the yacht was invited to the sauna and then -- to a very jolly supper, which continued till breakfast on the next day (as it was Sunday). |
