ÉCOLE DE TECHNOLOGIE SUPéRIEURE

Created in 1974, 'École de technologie supérieure' (''School of Higher Technology'') is an engineering university member of Université du Québec network. Located in Montreal specifically for students that have graduated from college technical programs (CEGEP), it offers co-op (co-operative) programs to all of its students, giving them a hands-on experience in their field of study.
Undergraduates programs offered at l'ÉTS are the following: software engineering, information technology engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, automated manufacturing engineering and construction engineering. It also offers multiple master's degree programs and doctorate in engineering.
It is well-known for its student-run technical clubs. The world's fastest human powered submarine, Omer[1], was developed by one such club. An Autonomous Underwater Vehicle named S.O.N.I.A.[2], a walking robot[3], Eclipse[4] the solar powered car and many others have won countless prizes over the years.
The school is represented in Canadian Interuniversity Sport by the ETS Piranhas.
The school's student union (student government) is called the ''Association des étudiants de l'école de technologie supérieure'' ('AÉÉTS') (The ETS Student Association).
